Reading Cacao

I named this drink “reading cacao  because it’s my favorite when I have to read for a long time.  This might have to do with cacao’s levels in PEA (phenylethylamine helps focus in the most pleasurable way) and the balancing yet stimulating effects of maca root.

Vegan. Vegetarian. Lactose Free. Gluten Free. Nut Free.

Allergy warning: check ingredients for specific allergies
Budget: moderate
Cooking difficulty: easy

Ingredients (for 1 mug)
2 tablespoons raw cacao
1 tablespoon raw maca root
1 teaspoon mesquite powder
1 teaspoon raw bee pollen
1 mug’s worth spring or filtered water

Heat the water to a simmer (turn the heat off before it even start to simmer). Mix the cacao, maca and bee pollen in a mug or drinking bowl. Gradually pour the water over the mix and whisk well with a fork of a matcha whisk (the matcha whisk will make it nice and frothy).

Enjoy immediately!
