An original recipe for a guacamole-tarama hybrid. This is a bit like the pink caviar called "tarama" which many of us have had in Mediterranean restaurants...and a bit like guacamole! Avocados and Fish eggs are both full of brain friendly fatty acids so this makes a great one when your intellect is working overtime.
Ingredients (for 2)
1 ripe avocado
about 30g smoked cod eggs (or 2 big tablespoons)
fresh ground pepper
the juice of half a lemon
Mash the avocado and the smoked cod eggs together, add the pepper and the lemon juice and mash or blend until you have a smooth purée with still a few chunks.
You can serve it as a dip, or spread it on your seaweed of choice and eat it like a sort of maki. Otherwise, this mix is also great on a simple salad with lettuce, lemon juice and olive oil. I also like it on a black quinoa/sea lettuce salad with olive oil and the juice of another half lemon.
